My fight with pie crust and why directions should be my friend.

So I cook alot. I'm really good at it if I do say so myself. I don't bake alot though as I am not really a dessert person. I had to make a pie for this lady at work. She always makes things for all of us when we have bitrhdays and one day I had mentioned that I made a lemon meringue pie for my dad and she had said how much she loves lemon meringue pie. So I decided I would make her one when hre birthday rolled around. Fast forward to last night:
I spent the evening battling with pie crust. I should have just bought a pre made freaking pie crust (like I did when I made the pie for my dad). BUT no...I had to be all "I'm going to make everything from scratch.....I think the crust on mary ann’s pie is going to fall apart the minute anyone tries to cut it.) I had flour ALL over the kitchen. I got in a fight with the rolling pin. The crust stuck to the counter so I had to “piece” it together in the pie dish. Then I read the rest of the recipe instructions where it says to roll the crust between two pieces of waxed paper. It really would have benefitted me to have read the directions BEFORE rollong the pie crust on the counter with the rolling pin covered in flour and then the crust sticking to rolling pin.
