Travel – This year’s travel was wonderful. Since I got married, I got to go on a honeymoon with my new hubby. We went to Secrets Silver Sands in Riveria Maya, Mexico. It was seven days of blissful relaxation. Even Joe took full advantage of the spa and the private pool and cabanas that followed our spa treatments. He even yelled at a drunk douche bag guy that was loud and obnoxious and interrupting our relaxation in our cabana. Joe doesn’t ever yell. I was impressed.
Boys – It’s time to delete this category. I’ve now married the best guy in the whole wide world and we’re pregnant with a baby girl. When I say my boys now, I am referring to hubby Joe and canine companion Cooper. I’ll use it in a sentence. I love cuddling with my boys.
Work – Work is good. It’s still work and I can’t say I love what I do but I like it and I like the paycheck.
Fitness – This year I ran three different 5ks. My favorite was the Oktoberfest run with Joe, Melissa, and Andrea and was followed by our very own Bierfest. To finish that day off we hit up the Italian festival. Nothing like two cultural festivals in one day to make a person love Cleveland. Oh oh fitness right. Well I belong to two gyms. I’m still fat. Okay not obese but bigger than I should be. But now I am pregnant – 18 weeks and 5 days as of today, January 7, 2010 and somehow I just haven’t been motivated to workout when I’m going to be as big as a house anyway.
Health – Now 8 years out from a stem cell transplant due to cancer (Hodgkin’s Disease), I’m pretty healthy and I’m pregnant. I wasn’t sure the latter would ever happen so I’m grateful to say the least. I still have residual issues like I can’t breathe sometimes but hey, I’m alive and I have lots of hair.
Friends – I’m so lucky to have some of the best friends ever. I know everyone says that crap and it makes it less believable but I really do. I got to have all of my besties stand up with me at my wedding and it made me feel wonderful. I had to have a big wedding party because I just couldn’t exclude any of them.
Car – Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my Cabrio. Well not entirely sadly because I replaced it with a Lexus SUV but still…..I miss the little convertible. But with the need for room for a baby seat and a stroller and a dog (because yes Cooper will still go everywhere he can with us), it was time for a bigger vehicle.
House – It’s been three years since we moved into our house now. Still love it. It feels like it is going to feel very small as I keep finding out more and more stuff that a baby needs but I think it will be good for us for another few years. I figure we’ll need a bigger one in four or five years.
Family – This year my family was together more than ever. Shower, rehearsal dinner and weddings bring people together. I was really happy to have my mom and dad at all of these events together. They’ve been divorced for many years now and I’m glad that everyone got along for all of the festivities.
So that's my year 2010, my 32nd year, in review and present state of affairs.
