I love the fall

Let me tell you what happens when it’s too warm outside to leave chocolate in the car. I bought a pound of meltable dark chocolate and green chocolate to make some Halloween treats for a party this Saturday. It's very near to that certain time in a month where a woman has a stronger affection for chocolate than usual. Also, I have almonds in my desk, perfectly portioned (by weight because I now have a food scale) in 1 ounce baggies. The chocolate was staring at me from inside its bag. It was nearly giving me an icy stare for not eating it and making it feel unworthy of its presence on my desk. Then the almonds reminded me they were there. It’s nearly the perfrect ratio of chocolate to almond when you put one little melt of chocolate and one little almond into one’s mouth. I’m out of control.
I am also bored out of my gourd (see how I cleverly tied in fall?) here at work. Working in finance is not such a great place to be while the economy is tanking and real estate is devaluing everyday. Ack. My office is super clean though!
This past weekend was sweetest day. Yep Joe and I celebrate it. Yep someone made it up. Someone probably made up Christmas too. So there. Anyway I made heart shaped rice krispy treats for Joe. We went out to dinner. We attempted to go to a haunted house by there were a bazillion people in line so we opted out of that and headed home. Oh and we got pumpkins. We had two and then Joe decied Cooper needed one. He's so adorbale. Joe is. Well cooper is too. But Joe is for wanting Cooper to have one. So now by our front door we have this little "family" of pumpkins. I wonder, if Cooper had opposable thumbs, because clearly that's the only thing keeping him from carving his own pumpkin, what would he carve?
It is so cool to watch the seasons change in my backyard. I love the woods back there. If I weren't so incredibly lazy I would have downloaded the pictures I took of my yard by now. But they are still on the camera like every other picture I've taken for the last month. I recently got some scrapbooking done. I did a Halloween 2007 two page spread. So I'm getting super caught up. Really only a year behind is pretty good for me.
I'm thinking I should be using my free time at work more wisely and like start writing Christmas cards or do some online shopping so that I am not running around like crazy come December but my Rules of Procrastination strongly prohibit getting anything done before it's absolutely necessary.
With that I am going to go and get back to my busy day.

I think "watching the seasons change in my backyard" is one of the (few) things I miss about living up where it eventually gets to be ten below.

Oh, that and basements.
